Koast supports launching campaigns by using an existing Post ID. This way, you preserve engagement, such as likes, comments, and shares, while scaling your content through paid campaigns. Instead of creating a new ad from scratch and going through the learning phases, you can directly promote a post that has already performed well.
This ensures social proof carries over into your campaigns, often leading to better performance and higher trust from your audience.
Using an existing Post ID is especially useful when:
A post is already generating strong engagement organically
You want to maintain continuity across paid traffic
Social proof is important for campaign performance
You are running retargeting or scaling campaigns
⚠️ Avoid editing the original post after launching ads ⚠️
Setting up a campaign using Post ID in Koast
Setting up this type of campaign in Koast is straightforward. However, it is important to note that this feature is not currently available within the Launchpad. To use an existing Post ID, you will need to create a new campaign or add an ad set to an existing campaign through the Batch (Home) view instead.
Step 1 - Click on the New Campaign button on the home page:
Step 2 - Select the New Campaign or Clone Campaign option
Step 3 - Click on the Add Ad Set button. Note that in this section, you can easily switch between the visual campaign builder and table view:
Step 4 - By using the Ad Type selector, switch to the Existing Post option. Select the number of ad sets you wish to use and click the Next button.
Step 5 - In the next section, you will be prompted to select your existing post. This can be done in two ways.
The first way is to select a post by using a dropdown (Select from Grid) that will list all accounts and pages you have access to. Posts that are not eligible for this will be greyed out.
The second way is to use the Enter Manually option, where you need to insert the exact ID of the post. Use this only if you are certain that the post is eligible for campaign launch; otherwise, the campaign launch might end with an error.
Step 6 - Now you can click the Review and Launch button! Before that, you may want to double-check your campaign settings (Assets, Budget, Locations, etc.):
Best practices when using this type of launch:
Choose posts with high engagement rates ✅
Ensure the content aligns with your campaign objective ✅
Avoid editing the original post after launching ads ✅
Monitor performance and scale based on results ✅
