Track and test your pixel events
Use the Events card on the Pixel tab to see which events fire and how often, fire test events, and define your own custom events.
The Events card lists every event your Koast ad account tracks, how often each one fired and whether it's still firing. You can also fire a test event and name your own custom events there.
Before you start
- This is for Koast ad accounts, which are provided through our partner Whop. Make one the active ad account first.
- Set up the pixel on your site. See Set up the Koast pixel.
Open the Events card
Open Settings, then Pixel, and scroll past Server-side tracking to Events.
Pick a period with 7 days, 30 days or 90 days. It starts on 30 days. The card refreshes itself every minute and when you come back to the tab. Select the refresh button to read it again right away.
Read the list
Events are grouped by where they come from:
| Group | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Standard events | The eight events the pixel documents, such as lead and add_to_cart. |
| Custom events | Your own event names, whether you defined them here or your site fired them. |
| Fired by the snippet | Page views and identity calls the snippet sends on its own. They aren't conversions. |
| Counted natively | Events Whop records without the pixel, such as payment.completed for a Whop checkout sale. |
Each row shows the event's name and full name, how many times it fired in the period, and its value when the event carries one. The status tells you whether it's still firing:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Firing · last today | It fired in the last 7 days. |
| Stale · last 12 days ago | It has fired before, but not in the last 7 days. Check the page that should fire it. |
| Never fired | No firing on record. |
| Unknown · the provider could not read its events | Whop couldn't report on this event just now. Refresh in a few minutes. |
On verified page means the event was seen on the page you verified in setup. On this site means it was seen elsewhere on your site.
Copy an event's snippet
Select the copy button on a standard or custom event to copy the line your site needs, for example whop.track("lead");. Paste it where that step of your funnel happens.
Fire a test event
Select the lightning button on a row to send that event once to your ad account. It takes a few minutes to show up in the count.
Test events are real conversions
A test event counts as a real conversion on your ad account and feeds ad delivery. purchase can't be fired from here, because it counts as real money. Neither can the events the snippet or Whop record on their own.
Add a custom event
Select New event.
Type the name your site will fire, for example
quiz_completed. Add a label if you like, such as "Finished the quiz".Select Add event. The event appears under Custom events as Never fired.
Fire it from your site with the line shown under the name, for example
whop.track("quiz_completed");.
Adding an event only names it. It turns to Firing once your site sends it. Names can be up to 250 characters. You can't use a standard event name like lead, a name the pixel keeps for itself (page, leave, identify or custom), or a name already defined on this ad account.
To give a label to a custom event that's already firing, add it with the same name.
Edit or remove a custom event
Custom events you defined here have two more buttons:
- Edit changes the label and a description for your team. Select Save.
- Remove deletes the definition. Events your site already fired stay counted, and the event still shows if your site keeps firing it.
Set up the Koast pixel
Add the Koast pixel to your site, check it on a live page and send conversion events, so your Koast ad accounts can optimise and attribute.
Server-side conversions
Send conversions from your server to the Koast pixel with a server-side key, so ad blockers and cookie rules don't hide them.
