Some actions deserve a second look before they happen. Mark a step as needing approval and the task stops there and waits for you in Needs your sign-off on Home. Nothing happens until someone approves it.

Ask for approval on a step

1. Open the task in Agent Tasks and select a Pause, Adjust budget or Slack notification step. These are the steps that can wait for approval.

2. Tick Require approval before this runs.

From then on, whenever the task reaches that step, the run stops and a sign-off appears on Home. The run shows Awaiting approval in the task's run panel.

Approve or decline a sign-off

1. Open Home. Pending sign-offs are listed under Needs your sign-off, with a count.

2. Select the Details arrow on a sign-off to see what will happen.

3. Select Approve to run the step, or Decline to cancel.

• Approve resumes the run from that step. The step runs right away and the rest of the task carries on.
• Decline cancels the whole run. The steps after it don't run either. The task itself stays active and fires again next time its trigger does.

Where else approvals come from

• The agent. When Koast Agent has prepared a task run that needs your go-ahead, it can put a sign-off in the same queue. Approving it runs that prepared run.
• The Pipeline. A task that launches can include a review step that holds its item on the Pipeline board, not on Home. The card shows Awaiting approval with its own Approve and Decline buttons. The agent adds this review step when it builds a task that launches.

Good to know

• Sign-offs live on Home only. Koast doesn't email you or post to Slack when one arrives, so check Home, or add a Slack step before the approval step if you want a ping.
• A sign-off waits. It stays on Home until someone approves or declines it, and Koast never clears it for you.
• The section only appears on Home when something is waiting.
