Triple Whale

Connect Triple Whale and see its orders and revenue next to your campaigns in Ads Manager.

Connect Triple Whale and its attributed orders and revenue show up as columns in Ads Manager, next to the spend Koast already reports for each campaign, ad set and ad.

Meta

Before you start

  • You need a Triple Whale API key. In Triple Whale, open Data, then APIs, and create a key with the read scopes.
  • You need your shop id. It is the shop-id in your Triple Whale app URL, for example example.myshopify.com.
  • You need access to integrations in Koast. Integrations are set per ad account, so connect Triple Whale while the right ad account is active.

Connect Triple Whale

  1. Open Settings and select Your integrations.

  2. Under All integrations, select Triple Whale in Attribution. Add Triple Whale API Key opens.

  3. Paste the key into API Key, enter your shop id in Shop ID, and select Connect. Koast checks the key and the shop id with Triple Whale before it saves them.

If Triple Whale refuses the key, or the key can't read that shop, the dialog stays open and says why. Enter the shop id on its own, not the full URL.

Triple Whale now shows under Connected, and gets its own entry under Your integrations. Select it to see:

  • Triple Whale API Key: the last four characters of the key in use.
  • Shop ID: the shop Koast reads.
  • Attribution Model and Attribution Window: for now, always Triple Attribution with a Lifetime window.
  • Last Fetched: when Koast last brought in Triple Whale's numbers, or "Not fetched yet".

See Triple Whale in Ads Manager

  1. Open Ads Manager and select Columns above the grid.

  2. Under Triple Whale, tick the columns you want: Orders, Revenue, ROAS, CPA, AOV, New customer orders and New customer revenue.

Triple Whale columns carry the Triple Whale icon, so you can tell them apart from your ad platform's own numbers. They start hidden. Once you turn them on, they stay on in every browser you use.

Good to know

  • ROAS and CPA use Koast's spend. Triple Whale supplies the orders and revenue. Koast divides by the spend it reports for the same campaign, ad set or ad.
  • A dash means unknown, not zero. When Triple Whale has no number for a row, the cell shows a dash.
  • Numbers refresh nightly. Koast fetches Triple Whale every night at 9:15 UTC. Each run fetches the last few days again, because Triple Whale keeps updating recent days for a while.
  • The first fetch covers 30 days. Right after you connect, Koast brings in the last 30 days.
  • Only Meta traffic. Koast reads the orders Triple Whale attributes to Facebook and Instagram ads. Other channels are left out.
  • Changing the shop starts over. If you reconnect with a different shop id, Koast clears the old shop's Triple Whale numbers before it fetches the new one.

Disconnect Triple Whale

In Settings, select Triple Whale under Your integrations. Select Disconnect under "Disconnect integration" and confirm. Koast stops fetching from Triple Whale, and the Triple Whale columns leave Ads Manager until you reconnect.
