Placement-specific creatives
Use a different image or video for feeds, stories and reels in the same ad.
A square image looks right in a feed but cramped in stories. Placement versions let one creative carry a different image or video for each shape, and the ad uses the right one in each placement.
Add placement versions
Open Creatives and select one creative. You can set placements for one creative at a time.
Select Manage Placements in the action bar.
In Manage Placements for your creative, drag a file onto an empty placement, or click it to browse.
Select Save Placements.

Your original creative fills one of them. To swap a version, remove it with the × and drop a new one. The original's own placement can't be removed.
Let Koast sort them
- You can drop up to 2 files at once, images or videos. Koast works out which placement each one fits from its shape, and places your original too.
- If Koast spots matching files in your library, based on their names and shapes, the window offers them: "We found … potential placement(s)". Select Add All Placements to use them, or Dismiss.
- Across your library, select 2 or more creatives and use Suggest Grouping in the action bar. Koast looks for creatives that are versions of each other and offers to combine them into one creative with placements.
Good to know
- A version has to match the creative's type: images for an image creative, videos for a video creative.
- The same video can't fill two placements on one creative.
- Placement versions are checked against your ad account's rules before launch, just like the main file. See Creative formats and limits.
