Import from Trybe
Connect Trybe with an API key, bring approved creator submissions into your creative library, and launch them with the Trybe tag that credits each creator.
Keep your creator content in Trybe? Connect it to Koast and the submissions you approve in Trybe come straight into your creative library, ready to launch. Every ad you launch from one carries its Trybe ID, so Trybe can credit the creator.
Before you start
- You need a Trybe API key. It starts with
tk_live_. In Trybe, open Integrations, then API access, to create one. - You need access to integrations in Koast. Integrations are set per ad account, so connect Trybe while the right ad account is active.
- Videos are uploaded to your ad account as they're imported, so to import videos the active ad account needs a working connection. Images don't.
Connect Trybe
Open Settings, then pick Trybe under Integrations.
Select Add API Key.
Paste your key into API Key and select Save.
Koast checks the key with Trybe before it saves it. Once it's accepted, the tab shows Connected and API Key Set.
Import approved submissions
Open Creatives and select Add Creatives.
Pick Import from Trybe. If Trybe isn't connected yet, this opens the Trybe settings instead.
Click the submissions you want. Each one shows the creator's name, whether it's a video or an image, and its products and angles. Select Load more to see older ones.
Select Import. The button shows how many you picked. Keep the window open until it finishes. Videos can take a minute.
The picker lists only submissions you've approved in Trybe. You can import up to 50 at a time.
When it's done, every submission you picked is listed as Added, Skipped or Failed, with the reason next to the ones that didn't make it. Select Import more to pick again, or Done to close.
Where imports land
- Every import goes into a folder called Trybe at the top of your library. Koast creates it the first time.
- Imports also show under Imported in the view menu.
- Each creative is named after the creator, the first product and the Trybe ID, for example "Jordan Lee · Daily Greens · 1b2c3d4e".
- Koast copies the file, so the creative keeps working whatever happens to it in Trybe.
You can't import the same submission twice. Submissions already in your library show In library in the picker and can't be selected. If you delete one from your library, it becomes available to import again.
Import new approvals automatically
In Settings, Trybe, turn on Auto-import. Koast then checks Trybe every 15 minutes and imports every newly approved submission into the Trybe folder. It's off until you turn it on.
Auto-import never brings back a submission you deleted from your library. Import it by hand if you want it back.
The Trybe tag on your ads
Every ad Koast launches from a Trybe creative gets its Trybe ID in two places, on Meta and on Koast ad accounts:
| Where | What Koast adds | Example |
|---|---|---|
| End of the ad name | A space, then trybe= and the Trybe ID | UGC 01 · Morning routine trybe=1b2c3d4e |
| Destination URL | A trybe parameter | https://vela.example/daily-greens?trybe=1b2c3d4e |
Your naming convention and your URL parameters stay as they are. Koast only appends the tag, and never adds it twice. Ads from creatives that didn't come from Trybe are untouched.
Trybe credits creators by this tag
Trybe uses the tag to credit each creator for the ads built from their content. Keep it in the ad name and the URL if you edit the ad outside Koast.
Change the key or disconnect
- To use a different key, select Change API Key in Settings, Trybe, paste the new one and select Save.
- To stop importing, select Disconnect and confirm. Auto-import stops until you reconnect. Creatives you already imported stay in your library, and ads already launched keep their tag.
If something goes wrong
The tab says "Key rejected".
Trybe stopped accepting your key, for example because it was revoked in Trybe. Auto-import is paused and can't be turned on. Create a new key in Trybe, then select Change API Key and paste it.
Koast won't save your key.
Check you copied the whole key. If Trybe says "Trybe has not enabled API access to submissions for this brand", ask Trybe support to turn on API access for your brand, then try again.
The picker says "Can't reach Trybe". Trybe didn't answer, or it no longer accepts your key. Select Open Trybe settings to check the connection. If it still shows Connected, wait a few minutes and try again.
A submission is skipped or failed. The reason is shown next to it:
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| Only approved Trybe submissions can be imported. | The submission was unapproved in Trybe after you opened the picker. Approve it in Trybe again. |
| The file could not be copied from Trybe. Try importing it again. | Import it again. |
| Trybe returned this submission without a file to download. | Check the submission has its file in Trybe, then import it again. |
| You must connect an ad account to import videos from Trybe. | Connect the ad account you're working in, then import the video again. |
| A valid ad account connection is required to import videos from Trybe. | Reconnect Facebook, then import the video again. See Reconnect Facebook and refresh assets. |
