Connect Meta and pick your ad accounts
Connect your Facebook profile in Settings and choose the Meta ad account Koast launches into.
Koast launches and reads Meta ads through your Facebook profile. You connect it once, then pick the Meta ad account this brand should use.
Before you start
- You need the Owner, Admin or Media Buyer role. Other roles don't see the Facebook tab.
- Your Facebook profile needs access to the ad account, usually through a Business Manager.
- If you signed up or signed in with Facebook, or chose CONNECT FACEBOOK during onboarding, you're already connected. Skip to the ad account step.
Connect Facebook
Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and select Settings.
Under Integrations, select Facebook.
Select Connect Facebook Ad Account. Koast sends you to Facebook.
In Facebook's dialog, sign in if asked, choose the businesses, Pages and ad accounts you want Koast to use, and leave every permission turned on.
Back in Koast, open the Ad account list and pick the account. The preview shows how many Pages, pixels and Instagram accounts it has.
Select Confirm Selection.
The tab now shows Connected, the account under Ad account, and a Connected Ad Account Summary with the Facebook profile you used. Campaign data can take a few minutes to appear in Ads Manager after the first connect.
What Koast asks Facebook for
Koast asks for these permissions. Turning one off in Facebook's dialog breaks the part of Koast that needs it.
| Permission | What Koast uses it for |
|---|---|
ads_management | Creating, editing, pausing and deleting your campaigns, ad sets and ads. |
ads_read | Reading spend, results and the status of your ads. |
pages_read_engagement | Reading your Pages' posts, so you can run ads from existing posts. |
pages_show_list | Listing the Pages you manage, so you can pick one when you launch. |
pages_manage_ads | Running ads on behalf of your Pages. |
business_management | Seeing ad accounts and assets that belong to your Business Manager. |
catalog_management | Using your product catalogs in catalog ads. |
instagram_basic | Listing the Instagram accounts linked to your Pages. |
instagram_basic is the only optional one. Without it, Koast still connects but your Instagram accounts don't show up. See Instagram accounts.
Good to know
- One ad account per brand. Each brand in Koast advertises through one ad account. To run more Meta ad accounts, add each one as its own brand. See Add or import another Meta ad account.
- The connection belongs to the brand. Connecting Facebook stores your access on the brand you're in. Ad accounts you import from that brand's list use the same profile.
- Access expires. Facebook access doesn't renew by itself. When it runs out, Koast shows a banner and you reconnect. See Reconnect Facebook and refresh assets.
- If you declined a permission, Koast shows:
Connect again and leave every permission on.
- No ad accounts in the list? Koast shows "No Ad Accounts Found". Check that your profile has access to the ad account in Business Manager, then reconnect.
