Instagram accounts: professional and linked to a Page
Get your Instagram account ready so it shows up in Koast and can run ads.
Meta only runs ads from Instagram accounts that are Professional (Business or Creator) and connected to a Facebook Page. Get both right, refresh your assets, and the account shows up when you launch.
Before you start
- You need admin access to the Facebook Page and the Instagram account.
- Facebook must be connected in Koast. See Connect Meta and pick your ad accounts.
Get the account ready
In the Instagram app, switch the account to a Professional account, Business or Creator.
Connect the Instagram account to the Facebook Page you advertise with, in the Page's settings on Facebook.
In Koast, open Settings, then Facebook, and select Refresh Assets.
Check Instagram accounts in the Connected Ad Account Summary. Your account should be listed under Instagram Accounts.
When you build a campaign, pick it in Instagram Account (Optional) under Assets & Tracking. The builder describes it as the account "to display on your ads and enable Instagram placements".
Still not showing up?
- You didn't allow Instagram when you connected Facebook. Koast asks for
instagram_basicto list your Instagram accounts, and it's the one permission Koast still connects without. Reconnect Facebook and leave it on. See Reconnect Facebook and refresh assets. - The account isn't linked to the Page or business the ad account can use. Koast lists Instagram accounts from the ad account and from the businesses your profile can reach.
- Meta rejects the account at launch. You'll see:
Switch it to Professional, connect it to the Page, refresh assets and launch again.
