How brands and ad accounts work
How brands, ad accounts and providers fit together in Koast, and which kind of ad account you need.
Everything you do in Koast happens inside a brand. A brand is one ad account plus everything around it: its campaigns, creatives, destinations, tracking and Agent Tasks. Switch brands and you switch all of that at once.
The short version
- One brand, one ad account. Each ad account you bring in gets a brand of its own.
- Two names for the same thing. The switcher at the top of the sidebar says Brand. Settings calls the list Ad Accounts. They're the same objects.
- Three kinds of ad account. Meta ad accounts, Koast ad accounts, and your own Whop account.
- All Accounts rolls every brand into one view once you have two or more.
Three kinds of ad account
| Kind | How you add it | Who bills ad spend |
|---|---|---|
| Meta ad account | Connect Facebook, then import the account. | Meta, with the payment method on your Meta ad account. |
| Koast ad account Koast ad account | Create it inside Koast. No Facebook profile needed. Koast ad accounts are provided through our partner Whop. | The card you save on that ad account in Koast. |
| Your own Whop account Whop | Connect it with a Whop company API key. | Whop, directly. Koast isn't involved. |
Pages to start from:
- Connect Meta and pick your ad accounts, then Add or import another Meta ad account.
- No Facebook profile? Create a Koast ad account, then Pay for ad spend.
- Connect your own Whop account.
What lives inside a brand
- The ad account's campaigns, drafts and results in Ads Manager.
- Its Pages, pixels and Instagram accounts.
- Creatives, destinations and Agent Tasks. The Creatives and Agent Tasks pages always show one brand at a time.
- Who can see it. You can give each teammate access to specific ad accounts. See Roles and permissions.
Adding ad accounts
Any member of your organization except View Only can add an ad account from the switcher: Import from Meta, Import from Whop or Create new ad account. Owners, Admins and Media Buyers can also do it from Settings, Ad Accounts, Add ad account.
Every brand counts toward your plan's ad account limit:
| Plan | Ad accounts |
|---|---|
| Growth | Up to 10 |
| Enterprise | Unlimited |
At the limit, the add options are greyed out: "You're at your Ad Account limit. Upgrade your plan to setup more." See Change plan, add ad accounts, update your card.
What this means for you
- Launching to many accounts at once still starts from one brand. See Launch into several ad accounts at once.
- An ad account can only live in one brand. To move it, remove it from the old brand first. See Remove or restore an ad account.
- Facebook access is stored per brand. That's how you use ad accounts from more than one Facebook profile. See Several Facebook profiles.
