Pay for an ad account by card
Have Meta charge your own card for an ad account you requested through Koast, instead of topping it up, and see how the weekly fee is billed.
An ad account you requested through Koast is paid with deposits by default: you add funds through Koast and Koast puts them on the account. With Pay by card, Meta charges your own card directly as you spend, so there's nothing to top up. Koast bills a fee of 3% of the ad spend, once a week.
Approved once for your organization
Koast approves paying by card for each organization. If yours isn't approved yet, you apply from the same place and Koast reviews it. Once your organization is approved, the ad accounts you ask for after that aren't reviewed again.
Before you start
- Only the owner or an Admin of your organization can choose how an ad account is paid.
- Have the card ready: number, expiry, security code, the name on the card and its billing address.
- If your organization isn't approved yet, you'll be asked for your Expected monthly ad spend (USD), and, if you already run ads, your Current monthly ad spend (USD).
On a new ad account
Choose it in the Payment step of the request. See Get a verified ad account for the other steps.
In the Payment step, next to Pay by card, select Choose. If your organization isn't approved yet, the button reads Apply: fill in your expected monthly ad spend, and your current one if you have it. Your application is reviewed with the request.
Under How does the card get onto the account?, pick one:
- Add my card here: enter the card in Koast and we add it to your ad account for you.
- I'll add it in Meta myself: once the account is shared into your Business Manager, you add the card in Meta billing. You don't share any card details with us.
If you picked Add my card here, fill in Card number, Expiry, Security code, Name on card and the billing address. Select Continue and finish the request.
Adding the card in Meta yourself only works when the account goes into your own Business Manager. If you checked I don't have a Business Manager. Use Koast's. in the Ad account details step, you can't reach the account's billing in Meta, so the card has to be added in Koast. To add it in Meta yourself, go back and pick your own Business Manager.
On an ad account you already have
You can move an ad account you already top up to paying by card. On an existing account the card is always entered in Koast, and we add it to the account for you.
Open Settings, then Ad Accounts.
Open the ⋮ menu on the ad account's row and select Pay by card.
If your organization is approved, the dialog is titled Pay by card. Enter your card and select Switch to card.
If it isn't approved yet, the dialog is titled Apply to pay by card. Type your expected monthly ad spend, and your current one if you have it, enter your card and select Send for review.
If your organization is approved, the account switches to your card right away and we add the card to it. If not, Koast reviews your application within a business day. While it waits, the row reads Own card requested · in review.
What happens next
You get an email when Koast decides. If it's approved, the email confirms the fee. If it isn't, it says why, and you keep paying with deposits. You can apply again from Settings, Ad Accounts when your ad spend changes.
In Settings, Ad Accounts, the row of an ad account paid by card shows where the card is:
| Second line | What it means |
|---|---|
| "Card •••• 4242 being added" | You entered the card in Koast and we're adding it to the ad account. |
| "Card •••• 4242 on the account" | The card is on the ad account. Meta charges it as you spend. |
| "Billed to your card on Meta" | The account is paid by card and there's no card waiting in Koast, for example because you add it in Meta yourself. |
Its ⋮ menu offers Add card in Meta, which opens the ad account's billing in Meta, on a new account in your own Business Manager. Everywhere else, including every account you moved to paying by card, it offers Add card in Koast.
How the fee is billed
Koast's fee is 3% of the ad spend on each card-paid ad account, unless Koast agreed a different rate when it approved your organization. The Payment step shows your rate.
- Every Monday Koast emails you an invoice for the week before. It has a line for each ad account with its spend and the rate. For example, $10,000 of spend in a week is a $300 fee.
- Due in 7 days. Pay it by card or bank transfer from the link in the email.
- No spend, no invoice. A week with no spend isn't billed.
- Separate from your plan. The fee isn't charged to the card that pays your Koast subscription.
Meta charges the ad spend itself to your card, so your ad spend receipts are in Meta billing.
Your card is safe
The card you enter in Koast is stored encrypted, and only so we can add it to your ad account. It's deleted once it's on the account. We never ask for card details by email or chat, and we never send them that way.
Good to know
- No top-ups on a card-paid account. An ad account paid by card can't receive funds through Koast, and its row has no Add funds.
- Your deposit accounts don't change. Paying one ad account by card leaves your other ad accounts on deposits.
- Every ad still goes through Meta's review, and what can run on these accounts is the same however you pay.
Add funds to an ad account in your Business Manager
Send a bank transfer or stablecoins to your Koast funding details to put money on an ad account you requested in your Business Manager, and see what each deposit costs.
Add or import another Meta ad account
Bring another Meta ad account into Koast. It becomes its own brand, and Koast switches you to it.
