Add ads: single creatives, carousels, existing posts

Add ads to your ad sets from single creatives, carousels or existing posts.

The Add Ads wizard turns your creatives into ads. You pick where they go, the ad format, the creatives or posts, and the copy, and Koast builds the ad sets and ads in your draft.

Before you start

Add ads

  1. Open the wizard

In the builder toolbar, select + Add Ad Set. To add ads to ad sets you already have, open the Ads tab of the table and select + Add Ad.

  2. Configure Ad Creation

If the campaign isn't picked already, choose it under Campaigns. Then pick the Ad type: Single Creative, Carousel or Existing Post.

  3. Choose the ad sets

Pick Create New Ad Sets or Add to Existing Ad Sets. For new ad sets, choose One ad set per creative or a Fixed amount per campaign, then select Next.

  4. Select Creatives

Pick the images and videos from your library. For a carousel, this step is Build Carousel Ad. For an existing post, it's Select Posts. Select Next.

  5. Copy Settings

Choose how the copy is written, pick the destination and call to action, and fill in the fields. See Write ad copy.

  6. Create Ads

Select Create Ads. The new ad sets and ads appear in the builder as drafts.

Ad types

TypeWhat you get
Single CreativeOne image or video per ad.
Carousel2 to 10 cards in one scrollable ad. Drag the cards to reorder them. The first card shows first.
Existing PostReuses a published post, with its likes, comments and shares. Meta

How many ad sets

OptionWhat happens
One ad set per creativeEach creative gets its own ad set. The number of ad sets follows the creatives you pick. For carousels it reads One ad set per ad, and for posts One ad set per post.
Fixed amount per campaignYou set the number of ad sets. With several campaigns selected, Koast shows the total it will create.
Add to Existing Ad SetsPick the ad sets under Select ad sets. Ads are created only in those.

One ad set per creative gives you a clean read on each creative. Putting all ads in fewer ad sets lets the ad platform spread the budget across them.

Use an existing post

An existing post keeps its social proof, so the ad starts with the engagement the post already has.

  1. In Configure Ad Creation, pick Existing Post and select Next.

  2. In Select Posts, use Select from Grid to pick posts from your pages. Posts that can't be promoted are greyed out. Hover one to see why.

  3. Or use Enter Manually and paste post IDs in the format pageId_postId, for example 123456789_987654321. Separate several with commas, spaces or new lines. They must all come from the same Facebook Page.

  4. Select Next and finish the copy settings.

An ad built from a post uses the post's own copy. Only enter an ID by hand if you know the post can be promoted, or the launch can fail.

Good to know

  • Existing posts and carousels are Meta only. For a Koast ad account or other Whop account, those ad types don't show in the wizard. Meta
  • Instagram shows the first 5 cards of a carousel. With more, Koast warns you that the rest won't appear on Instagram.
  • There's a cap on ads per creation, and it depends on your plan. If you go over it, Create Ads stays greyed out and tells you to reduce the creatives or the variations per creative.
  • You can skip the creatives step (except with one ad set per creative) and add creatives to each ad later in its settings.
