Launch campaigns

What works on Meta and what works on Whop

Which launch settings work on Meta, which work on Whop, and where they differ.

Koast launches to two ad platforms: Meta (Facebook and Instagram ads) and Whop. Whop covers Koast ad accounts, the ones Koast sets up for you, as well as Whop accounts you connect with your own API key. Most launch settings work on both. This page lists where they differ.

Koast hides or flags settings your ad account can't use. If something still won't go through, Review & Launch tells you before anything is published, using the messages quoted below.

Every Whop launch needs a page

A Whop ad account has exactly one page, and every ad publishes from it. If none is picked, the launch stops with: "Pick a page to publish these ads from before launching."

Budget minimums

Daily budgetLifetime budget
MetaAt least $1.00At least $7.00
WhopAt least $5.00 per ad setNo minimum set by Koast

Budgets are in your ad account's currency. The currency and timezone come from the ad account itself, on Meta or in your Whop account's settings. See Budget and schedule.

Copy limits

FieldMetaWhop
Primary textUp to 40,000 characters. Required.Up to 40,000 characters. Required.
HeadlineUp to 255 charactersUp to 500 characters
DescriptionUp to 500 charactersUp to 1,000 characters

These are the limits Koast checks before launch. When you edit an ad's copy in its settings drawer, the fields stop earlier: 255 characters for a headline, 9,999 for primary text and 150 for a description. Ads built from an existing post keep that post's own copy.

Creatives

MetaWhop
Image formatsJPG and PNGNo format restriction set by Koast
Minimum widthNone set by Koast500px, for images and videos

Koast checks these when you upload, so a file that can't run on your ad account is refused right away. See Creative formats and limits.

On Meta, ad copy can't change once an ad is live. Duplicate the ad to publish new copy. See Edit a live campaign.

Reporting

Meta campaigns get full reporting in Ads Manager and in the builder. Whop campaigns report too, through Whop's own reports: spend, impressions, clicks and results, in Ads Manager and in the builder.

One builder feature is Meta only. Sync, which re-reads a campaign from the ad platform, isn't shown at all on a Whop ad account.

Third-party trackers are Meta only too. RedTrack, Cometly and Hyros all read Meta traffic, so they add nothing on a Koast ad account. See Track conversions and revenue.

Importing

MetaWhop
Import from the same ad accountYesYes
Import from another ad account on the same platformYesNo
Import from the other platformNoYes, from Meta, as a best-effort draft

A Meta campaign imported into a Whop ad account keeps its structure, budgets, schedules, targeting and copy. Things that belong to the Meta account (pixel, custom and saved audiences, lead form, catalog, page posts) are dropped, and every ad set needs a conversion event picked again. See Import live campaigns.
